Hello! I am Wendy Assel, and I have been teaching in the Platte County School District since the Fall of 2008 and began my teaching career in the Kansas City Missouri School District. Growing up in the smaller town of Hot Springs, Arkansas, my initiation into the teaching profession in the inner city was eye-opening, character-building, humbling, and motivating. I enjoyed my time there and gained many enriching skills. I remained there for seven years before finding my home at PCHS.
My husband, Henry, and I have four children and three grandchildren. Our two youngest children attended PCHS (Maggie graduated in 2025, and Aiden is a senior this year). When I'm not at school, I enjoy reading and getting outside, hiking, camping, and vanning.
