My passion for Family and Consumer Sciences began when I discovered 4-H. Through 4-H, I experienced firsthand how learning practical skills, trying new things, and getting involved in your community can make a difference.

I earned my teaching degree from Northwest Missouri State University and began my teaching career in 2002 at Archie R-V School District. Five years later, I wanted to be closer to my family in Nebraska, which led me to PCR-3, where I have continued my career as an FCS educator.

During my time at Platte County, I have continued to grow as an educator and expand my knowledge. I have earned two master’s degrees—one in Curriculum and Instruction and another in the Science of Teaching and Technology. I am also a Certified Hospitality Instructor and a Certified Guest Service Professional, credentials I earned during my time at PCR-3.

Over the years, my passion for Family Consumer Sciences (FCS) has only grown. I believe FCS gives students practical skills they can use today and skills that will continue to serve them throughout their lives.
