My name is KJ Courtney, and I am excited to be teaching English at Platte County High School. I am originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I attended Park University in Parkville for my Education Degree. I have been in Platte County since 2019, and after a two-year hiatus with another school district, I am super excited to be back! My goal is to create a classroom environment where students feel challenged, supported, and encouraged to grow as learners and individuals.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing with my Rottweiler Louie, playing video games, watching/participating in various sports, and spending time with my wife, who teaches in the district at the elementary level, and our 3-year-old son. I also coach middle school basketball at PCMS, as well as high school baseball here at PCHS. I look forward to partnering with students and families to make this a successful and rewarding school year. Go Pirates!
