Nicole Kallo
Speech Language Pathologist
Platte County High School & Platte City Middle School
Hey there! I’m Nicole Kallo! I have been an SLP for over 25 years, but this is my second year in the Platte County R-3 School District at the High School. I attended college at Hofstra University (in New York) and graduate school at Baylor University. I was a military spouse for over 25 years; we moved quite a bit, which allowed me to work in various settings. My previous environments included home health, out-patient rehab, and a children’s hospital. Those settings were fantastic, but being a school-based SLP is my jam!
If you are new to the district or your child is a freshman, WELCOME!!! I cannot wait to meet him or her! To the parents of my returning students- I am very excited to see your child again! Overall, I am looking forward to working with all of my students and I cannot wait to see the progress they will make in communication this year. I encourage families to actively participate in their child’s therapy, so do reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
I live in Platte City, MO, with my husband John, my B/G twins (who will be Sophomores this year at PCHS), Timothy and Victoria, and our dog Moon. When I’m not working, I fill my time up baking, reading, working out and spending time with my family. I have a big sweet tooth and if you offered me a cupcake or a donut, I would not say “no.” I love coffee and chocolate (sometimes together), but I am trying very hard to not have so much! I am a TV junkie: I love to watch Monk, Elsbeth, Frasier, and Bull. You will also find the NY Yankees and the NY Jets (and maybe the Chiefs ) on TV at my house.
